Our Mission: The mission of the United States Medical Massage Association is to represent Medical Massage Therapists nationwide and to educate massage practitioners in the ethical practice of Medical Massage, promote the standardization and national certification of Medical Massage, and to defend the rights and advancement of Medical Massage Therapists as members of the Allied Healthcare Team. USMMA will endorse, recognize, or accept professional Medical Massage organizations that abide by the ethics and medical standards and practices recognized by medical authorities.
The USMMA will utilize new media services to provide therapists with the latest information. Via email, live chats with leading speakers and officials, videos, books, seminars, and other web technologies. The USMMA will provide a forum for members to ask questions and receive timely answers. By becoming a member you too can help write the history of the Medical Massage industry. We will not only be helping ourselves, we will be opening new doors for our patients.
The USMMA's founder is David W. Luther, an author and lecturer on medical massage insurance reimbursement. He is also the owner of The Medical Massage Office & Associates, which prides itself on superior instruction in Medical Massage and advice about insurance billing. The USMMA is a natural extension of The Medical Massage Office & Associates, reflecting David's innate concern for the welfare of the Medical Massage community. David believes that the USMMA will be a great benefit to everyone in the industry, including patients, doctors, associations, schools, insurance companies, government agencies, and, of course, therapists.
