CLICK HERE to visit USMMA National's Yahoo group. All you need is a Yahoo login... Our Goal: The goal of the United States Medical Massage Association (USMMA) is to represent the future of Medical Massage nationwide by providing a voice in Legal and Legislative issues. The association will collect dues to be placed in an account (minus minimal administration costs) designated to protect its members from unfair acts of discrimination, down coding, price fixing, delays, and/or denials of payment. In addition, this association will guide members by providing a clearinghouse of information related to Medical Massage and insurance reimbursement. The USMMA will support and encourage superior education allowing us to educate our members about the ethical standards of the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Allied Healthcare system, with the purpose of offering the most effective outcome for the patient. Such programs will include, but are not limited to, advanced anatomy, kinesiology, spinal biomechanics, and techniques approved and accepted by the AMA, medical coding, chart/SOAP reporting, special Orthopedic testing, postural evaluation, specific protocols and understanding of pathologies as they are related to medical massage therapy. The USMMA promotes the national certification of Medical Massage therapists, which includes sitting for a Board Exam designed to explicate their knowledge in the field of Medical Massage. The ultimate goal of the USMMA is to motivate the industry as a whole to elevate the national level of success both ethically and educationally. The USMMA will endorse, recognize, or accept professional Medical Massage organizations that abide by the ethics and medical standards and practices recognized by medical authorities. The USMMA will not endorse any professional association that demonstrates noncooperation in the advancement of Medical Massage and the individual rights of therapists who have achieved that level of knowledge and skill. Our Work:
